16 Jan DTC honors Urban Heroes at Annual Luncheon

The Downtown Council honored four Urban Heroes last week, as part of its Annual Luncheon ceremonies. Urban Hero awards are presented each year to individuals, entrepreneurs and small businesses who have worked to improve the quality of life Downtown.
Mike Hagedorn, chairman of the DTC Board of Directors, and Bill Diet rich, president and CEO, presented the awards at a special Urban Heroes reception on Wednesday evening, Jan. 8 at the new Three Points rooftop club at Sporting Club, 1511 Baltimore. The reception drew 130 guests, a record high for this event.
The winners were also recognized at the DTC’s Annual Luncheon on Friday, Jan. 10 at the Grand Ballroom of the Kansas City Convention Center, which drew nearly 900 guests.
The 2013 Urban Heroes are:
- Vladimir Krstic, Kansas City Design Center, 1018 Baltimore
- 20th Street Infrastructure team: Dan Clothier, Jim Miller, Tom Nelson, Charlie Barnard, Crossroads Arts District
- Alex and Courtney Perry: The Arts Asylum, 1000 E. 9th St.
- Luke Wade: Recreational Advocate, KC Crew
